At Corporate Coffee Systems, we take our charitable responsibilities very seriously.
There are many local charities in and around the New York area, which have benefited from Corporate Coffee Systems' generous donations over the years. CCS favours both big and small causes across the whole of society, including New York foundations, fundraisers and community projects. In this small way, we try to do our bit locally and nationally for people in need.
Over the years, Corporate Coffee Systems has made many donations to a variety of local and national charitable organizations. Several charities in New York and surrounding areas have already been able to make good use of the money or products provided by Corporate Coffee Systems, whether for community projects, programs for children or medical research. Each year Corporate Coffee Systems also receives countless thank you letters from charities wishing to express their heartfelt appreciation.
In 2010 and 2011 alone, Corporate Coffee Systems was extremely active in the area of charitable donations. On a local level, we are especially committed to helping communities, children and sufferers of chronic disabilities or illnesses through a variety of means. CancerCare New York of Woodbury, Long Island, for instance, received free coffee containers for their 8th Annual Lung Cancer Walk on November 7, 2010. That day, the charity raised more than $200,000 to fund various educational, financial and practical support services aimed at lung cancer sufferers in the Long Island area.
Working closely with local communities is very near to Corporate Coffee Systems' heart. Other local charities that have benefited from Corporate Coffee Systems' generosity are the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island and the Gateway Youth Outreach program of Elmont and Floral Park, two children's charities based on Long Island. In addition, Corporate Coffee Systems sponsors the Plainview Long Island Blues, an amateur ice hockey team for disabled people, the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, a community center in Westbury providing services for local people in need, and SNAP, also in Westbury, which offers community services to the elderly. We also proudly associate ourselves with many of the religious charities in New York, such as the Catholic fraternal society Knights of Columbus.
In 2011, Corporate Coffee Systems became a sponsor of the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, a local charity that provides educational, recreational and social resources to the Jewish community in New York. Last year, this local foundation handed out $600,000 worth of scholarships to Jewish families and at CCS we are proud to have contributed at least a small part of that amount.
New York fire fighters have a special place in the hearts of many people here at CCS. That is why we make a point of making yearly donations to several local NY fire stations and fundraising programs, including the West Hempstead Fire Department, Westbury Fire Department and the Richard Forenza Memorial Fund. This memorial fund originated after the tragic death of one of New York's many fire fighters and is dedicated to financially supporting the Fire Fighter's Burn Center at Nassau County Medical Center, one of the most advanced burn centres in the whole of the country. In fact, CCS is known for its generosity when it comes to medical charities. Their donation to the SASS Foundation for Medical Research is just another example of that.
Each year, Corporate Coffee Systems plans to help several of these local charities by making financial donations or free products for events and centers. So by purchasing any of our machines or products, you too can make a difference in the local communities of New York. The more we grow, the more we can help make New York a better place for everyone. Thanks to Corporate Coffee Systems charity begins on your own doorstep.
